Meath GAA have released their fixture planner for the upcoming shortened season due to COVID-19 disruption.
Senior Football:
- There will be no Leagues this year.
- Feis Cup (starting weekend June 6th) will be played with two groups of 8 teams playing 7 Round Robin games where the top two in each group qualifying for the Semi-Final
- The 2021 Meath Senior Football Championship will start the weekend of the 15th of August, this is to allow games outstanding from 2020 to be completed.
- The Championship will be 4 groups of 4 with the top two qualifying for the Quarter-Finals.
- The 2020 Feis Cup Final between Gaeil Colmcille and Wolfe Tones will be played in early August, after the 2021 competition and before the Championship starting
Premier Football:
- We will have two Premier Championship Teams for 2021 and both competitions will start mid-June to allow 2020 finals to be played.
- There will be Divisions of 8 with 7 Round Robin Games with the top 4 qualifying for the Semi Finals.
Intermediate Hurling:
- There will be no Leagues this year.
- The Byrne Cup will be contested for all Intermediate sides, 2 groups with an open draw. Each will play 5 Round Robin games followed by a Semi-Final.
- The 2021 Meath Intermediate Hurling Championship will start mid-August after the 2020 Finals are played.
U19 Football & U21 Hurling:
- Starting November/December when all Championships are complete.
Minor & Underage:
- Minor, Underage, and Go Games calendar is being developed by Youth Committee
- Plan is to have 1 game per code at each age grade 13/15/17 per week from June-Oct
- 115 games per week for u13/15/17 – mostly on weekday nights
- Also play Go Games from June to Oct on Sat mornings + 1 weekday night for u11 Go Games
