Gaeil Colmcille’s Adult Men get their respective Championships underway this weekend with both our Senior and Premier Team out on Friday and Sunday.
First up on Friday, our Seniors face off with familiar foes and neighbours Wolfe Tones. Both teams are well acquainted to each other as since Kells made their return to the Senior ranks in 2014 they’ve faced off in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022. Gaeil Colmcille winning on the first of three encounters while the 2021 tie finished a draw it was the Kilberry/Gibbstown side who claimed bragging rights in the most recent fixture winning on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11. This is surely to be another tight affair with throw in at Pairc Tailteann at 7.30pm

On Sunday, our Premier Division 1 team makes the trip to Piltown to face St. Colmcille’s in Group B of this years Championship. Kells have been involved in relegation battles for the last couple of years since the introduction of the Premier Championships with wins over Summerhill in 2021 and Ratoath in 2022 securing their Division 1 status.
Best of luck to Eoin, Brendan and all teams as Championship for 2023 gets into action.
