John Gormley picked up the Meath Chronicle “Spirit of the Final” award after his performance in the Cumann Na mBunscol Hurling Shield Final in St. Loman’s Park, Trim on Saturday the 15th of June.
See the Meath Chronicle comment:
“Central to St. Colmcille’s blistering start that laid the platform for victory John maintained a high standard throughout with his endeavour and willingness to put his body on the line for the cause. Superb display even when things weren’t going according to plan”
John scored 1-02 on the day and fellow Gaeil Colmcille team mates scored well on the day with Tiernan Anderson scoring 0-06 and Johns twin brother Andrew scoring 0-03 points.
It caps off a great end to primary school for all the lads winning their third school title, two Football and one Hurling.
John matched his brothers effort in winning the “Spirit of the Final” award when brother Andrew won the award back in November for his display in the football final. We’re sure parents David and Linda are extremely proud as we are at the club.
