It wasn’t a bad weekend to be a Meath fan and Gaeil Colmcille were well represented last weekend as some of underage players took part with Meath Academy teams in both boys and girls teams from u12s right up to u16s.
Fionn Smith was in action with the Meath u16s as they beat Westmeath 7-14 to 0-08 in the Gerry Reilly Cup in Millbrook on Saturday.
Issey McKeon was part of the Meath u12 team that won the Division 1 Cup in a Leinster Blitz played on Saturday.
Ajay Tormey and Andrew Butler took on Kerry in the u15 National Tournament with Meath Newgrange losing their match and Meath Tara drawing. The games were played in Abbotstown on Saturday.
Bruno Griffin, Kilian Kelly and Jack Hogg faced Dublin at Abbotstown Saturday morning in a series of u14 challenge matches with selector David Gormley also there. The lads won 7 out of their 9 games.
