On Sunday Meath GAA conducted the draws for the 2020 Championships in Pairc Tailteann. Gaeil Colmcille featured in four of those draws with the full details below.

Senior Football Championship:

With 16 teams in this years Championship, the format would be 4 groups of 4 with the top team in each group going to the Semi-Final and the Bottom 4 teams liable for relegation. We have been drawn in Group D with 2018 Champions St. Peter’s Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin and in the first round we face off against 2016 Intermediate Champions St. Colmcille’s.

Semi-Finals A1 v C1 and B1 v D1 with the relegation Semi Finals being A4 v C4 and B4 v D4

Premier Championship Division 1:

This year see’s the new Premier Championship being introduced with all second, third and fourth teams taking part across 8 divisions. We have been regraded from Junior A to this and been placed in Division 1. The 8 teams in Division 1 have been separtated into two sub groups and we have been drawn in Group B with Skryne, Summerhill and Seneschalstown.

Top Team in each Group go through to the final with the bottom two in each group liable for Relegation

Minor Championship Division 1:

After the success over St. Peter’s Dunboyne in last years u16 Division 2 our lads have earned the right to compete in the Division 1 Championship for 2020. Two groups of 4 were drawn out with the top two teams eligible for Semi-Finals while the bottom two go into a Shield. Our boys were drawn in Group A along with Summerhill, St. Peter’s Dunboyne and Duleek/Bellewstown.

For the Semi Finals A1 v B2 and B1 v A2 while the Shield Semi Finals will be A3 v B4 and B3 v A4

Intermediate Hurling Championship:

The 2020 Hurling draw will run something similar to previous years although there is now sub groups of four teams, we have been drawn in Group A playing Rathmolyon first and the losers facing Boardsmill.
